Prerequisites: Students will be required to complete the first part of the orbital warfare curriculum, the Fundamentals of Orbital Operations Course (FOOC) prior to registering. Additionally, ONE of the following: Space 100 (SP100), or Introduction To Space (ITS), or Introduction To Joint Space (ITJS), or a service-level, national or North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) course equivalent (e.g. NSO N3-01 Space Support to NATO Operations).
After completing COWC, graduates will be able to:
Apply understanding of basic Orbital Warfare (OW) operations in Earth orbital regimes.
Identify how deception, disruption, denial, degradation and destruction are used in OW operations.
Analyze the role of offensive and defensive space control in OW operations.
Analyze the impact of legal consideration to OW operations.
Understand the impact of cyber operations on OW operations.
Describe the importance of Space Domain Awareness (SDA) on OW operations.
Analyze intelligence operations that support OW and the importance of collaboration and integration with space operations.
Understand how ground and space weather impact space operations.
Understand threats to space systems.
Apply basic physics, operations considerations, and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) to a notional orbital warfare scenario.
