See how you can handle extreme tempo changes in music, straighten the tempo, or follow the groove of old disco songs.
Beat matching can be hard if you have old disco songs that don't have a steady tempo or if you have tracks which have tempo changes by design.
We will show how DJ.Studio's new beat algorithms let you combine these two challenging songs: Soup for one from Chique and Kalinka from Dimitri Vegas.
Example 1: Kalinka from Dimitri Vegas - large tempo changes by design
Extract the drums with our stem separation and add them to the break to give that more color.
With the AI beat grid you can see the tempo changes shown with the grey line
And the great thing is: the Sample lane is following the tempo of the track, meaning that you can now add quantized samples to not steady tracks.
Example 2: Soup for one from Chique - old disco song with varying tempo
You can use either the Flexible or the AI beatgrid to beatgrid the old disco song perfectly.
You can even add the Drums from Kalinka to the track in 2 different ways.
You can either
1. Set the BPM line to Manual to straighten the track ( the groove is completely gone) and you can now even set it to the tempo you like.
2. or follow the original groove by setting the tempo line to Auto
