Released in 1980, "The Game" marked a significant shift in Queen's musical direction, embracing a more mainstream, radio-friendly sound. This album features a blend of rock, pop, and funk elements, showcasing the band's versatility. It includes some of their most famous hits like "Another One Bites the Dust" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," both of which topped the charts worldwide.
For the first time in this series I play electric parts with a guitar other than the Red Special: my Fender Stratocaster makes an appearance on a couple of tracks.
🎸For the distinctive multi layered sounds of the guitar harmonies, I have used a special little amp made by Manuel at DoxyWorld, the Supersonic Doxy. This replicates exactly the tone of the Deacy amp, a unique creation of John Deacon used by Brian May throughout his entire Queen catalogue. The other guitar sounds are replicated with IK Multimedia's AmpliTube 5.
