Euro-IX's Learn with US presents Pavel Odintsov with a presentation about FastNetMon Community. DDoS attacks are getting more and more sophisticated and the need for efficient tools to automate their detection is all time high. Large scale DDoS attacks may pose an existential threat to companies and may even disrupt some local segments of the Internet.
FastNetMon can detect volumetric DDoS attacks using a threshold based approach. After detection of an attack it can run arbitrary BGP announcements for affected hosts or networks which includes attacked hosts with specific BGP communities. In more complicated integrations it can run arbitrary scripts.
After listening to this presentation you will have a complete understanding of FastNetMon’s capabilities and ways for integrating it into your IXP.
