Trilogy of the GOLDEN ROOFS of KIEV : Saint Sophia, the oldest - The construction of the cathedral merges with the birth of the Slavo-Finnish tribes of the Rus' of Kiev in the 9th century. Thanks to the restorations and alterations of the 18th century, and despite the avatars of the communist regime, it has preserved beautiful frescoes and splendid mosaics with rich shades, which date from the 11th century.
It is enclosed in an enclosure where are located the Residence of the Metropolitan, the Refectory, small sacred museum, the beautiful Zaborovoskyi gate, which serves as a hall for the presentation of exhibitions. And of course the beautiful bell tower, from which one has a stunning view of Kiev.
Saint Sophia of Kiev is a thousand-year-old building, but it is no longer celebrated as a World Heritage museum it is now a museum, a UNESCO World Heritage .
