A Deep Dive into Diamond City's Economy | Fallout 4
Hey what is going on guys, it is SuperbTube here, and welcome back to another video!
In this video I explore the wealth inequality in Diamond City. First we look at the industries operating in Diamond City itself, with most of the economy resulting from the trading emporiums located in the heart of the city. The safety of Diamond City in comparison to most of the Commonwealth makes it an ideal trading spot.
Afterward, we look toward establishing how much a cap is actually worth primarily by observing the payments made toward services, with skilled/hazardous work usually garnering a base price of approximately 100 caps, and low skilled work more toward 15 caps. Real estate is factored in, with the Home Plate house for sale in Diamond City costing 2000 caps. More than that, the wealth traders are willing to have on hand to dish out as change or use to purchase your items is usually around the 300 caps mark. All of this reveals that purchasing a home for 2000 caps requires performing highly skilled labour (or dangerous work) for a good amount of time before one could outright purchase a house - especially when factoring in the cost of living. Low skilled workers are likely to never make enough to outright purchase a home as their income is simply to low.
Finally after this we look to establishing the net worth of the three distinct economic and social classes in Diamond City; the poorest, the merchants and the upper stands gentry.
