This first stage is about breaking things down and burning them to ash.. This is where we take our first step at eliminating dense impurities or problems plaguing a system.
At a personal level, this is when our ego gets burned or we experience an intense or traumatic event that shakes our foundation! It is a rather searing, caustic approach, but that is the fastest way to get rid of the impurities.
Because the whole system is bound up with and polluted by those impurities, the whole system must get thrown into the fire.. to set the essential parts free from the parts that weigh it down.
