Genshin Impact - Wanderer - sound redesign
As the title says, a sound recreation of 'wanderer' from genshin impact. Decided to try out a few experimental techniques and I'm pretty happy with the results.
All of the attack sound effects were designed with multiple layers composed of various field recordings and synthesized effects. The first layer to the sound was the wind/whoosh layer which was created through editing and layering wind recordings and white noise splashes into short swooshes. The second layer was composed of lots of harsh frequencies, similar to a knife/sword, which were designed to make the attacks seem sharp and dangerous, this was created through recording two knives scraping together and editing them appropriately. The last layer consisted of multiple synths to give the effect more of a sci-fi feeling which not only makes the attacks seem more powerful but also gives more context and backstory of the power being used to generate these attacks.
