Looking At Picture Books 10: with JARVIS
Episode 10 of #LookingAtPictureBooks is an interview with Jarvis, author/illustrator of Alan's Big Scary Teeth and many other brilliant picture books. Here, Jarvis chats about the origins of his new picture book 'The Boy With Flowers In His Hair', a really touching story that can be read on many different levels. He talks about his approach to generating ideas, how the story developed, how the artwork evolved - and how he sometimes writes stories through song. Watch to the very end to hear one of his charming songs!
There's also a look at the wonderful 'Days With Frog and Toad' by Arnold Lobel (Harper Collins), a book which has inspired Jarvis and is one of my all-time favourites.
