Today is all about the first China-funded hydropower mega project along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, that was recently put into operation in Punjab Province of Pakistan. The Karot hydropower project is a 720MW clean energy project built on the Jhelum River, Rawalpindi district, Pakistan. This is a major project on energy cooperation under the CPEC and the first large-scale hydropower investment venture. It is estimated that the project will reduce CO2 emissions by around 3.5 million tons per year.
