The Polyend Synth comes in a familiar looking package and packs in 8 synth engines, 3 of which you can play simultaneously in 'Scenes'. Here I review and demo the main functions, how to navigate through the interface and access all the options. As with all the Polyend kit they pack an big punch in a little package, but somehow manage to make it easy and fun to use. The Polyend Synth is no different.
8 synths, a mixer, FX and lots of setup and performance options.
Each of the synths is deep enough to get complex tones without over complicating things. The FM synth for example has only 2 operators, but they don't rely on traditional sines, they use wavetables so the starting tone can already be incredibly complex. The FAT oscillator takes the idea of a big 3 voice analog synth and creates 'fat' detuned and supersaw style tones really easily.
It's limited to 8 note polyphony between all 3 synths, which I've found to be more than enough - an arp on one, bass on another and a chord on the final synth.
