I got a task to make a manual about how to connect to a high performance computer node that we. The server is Linux based. To show how to upload files to the server and run different programs, i decided to use WSL. Here in this video I show some basics of how to execute different Windows .exe files form a Linux shell. in this video i show how to run Firefox, but the method is applicable to any other .exe file. After I made the video, I decided to blur my ID. its very interesting, like the insulation breakdown, you must make everywhere strong, otherwise even a single weak link causes everything to lose its purpose. in this case blurring the name, should be done perfectly everywhere, which is rather time consuming. I did it just to test my patience and see if i could do it without it being readable. i think if people pay close attention they can still find the username :), not much important though. Now at least i have learned a few new tricks regarding blurring. At first I thought to hide the username from the terminal using the following command:
export PS1="\W \$"
But later i decided to keep tings normal such that people who are doing it for the first time can see the exact same thing.
Another good command is:
explorer.exe .
with this you can see the current directory in windows explorer
remember that for this .exe to work you need to add C:\Windows in your PATH variable.
