QuickTime Player is bundled on macOS, however, it can be very limited in features for many users. If you are interested in how to change default video player on Mac, here are several easy steps to do it.
How to Change Default Media Player on Your Mac
Step 1 - Choose your video file. Right click on the video and select "Open with".
Step 2 - Click on the "Open with" tab. A drop-down menu will appear showing the current default video player as well as other video players you can choose from to play your file.
Step 3 - From the drop-down menu, choose the video player of your choice and it will become your default video player for Mac. Check the box “Always open with”.
Note:
This method applies to one file format at a time. So if you have different file formats, then you have to follow the same steps for each type.
