70GHz Rotman Lens openEMS Simulation
Attempting to simulate a 70GHz Rotman lens with openEMS, I've used Blender to model the lens, which then I exported to openEMS, and the simulation results are rendered back into Blender.
This animation shows the launch of the electric field component from one port and how it propogates throughout the lens. It does seem that most of waves are absorbed at each inactive port, though there are some reflected waves which I believe may be due to the mesh of the model.
The design of the Rotman Lens itself is from "Attaran, Ali, Chowdhury, Sazzadur, Fabrication of a 77 GHz Rotman Lens on a High Resistivity Silicon Wafer Using Lift-Off Process, International Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2014, 471935, 9 pages, 2014.
