Let me show you… this is Catalina island, located 25 miles off shore it was once a vacation destination for celebrities and in the early 1900s a bunch of bison were brought to the island and never removed. Now there are about 100 on the small island which is roughly 8 miles wide and 22 miles long.
The best way to experience the rugged beauty of this island is to hike across it on the TCT. A 38 mile backpacking trail that goes through the interior of the island and along its rugged coast.
