Here, in the far north lies the realm of snow, ice and cold. And among these deserted expanses of the Arctic lives the largest population of wild reindeer in the world.
Every spring, these beautiful animals go on a long journey. Deer go day and night, in rain and cold, constantly risking their lives. And nothing in the world, not even death itself, can stop their centuries-old movement.
Why do deer doom themselves to such trials? What are they looking for in the cold north?
This film was shot when a millionth population of reindeer lived in the deserted expanses of the Arctic. Now it has almost halved. In addition to uncontrolled poaching and irrational legal prey, the reproductive capacity of males is also reduced due to cutting antlers and hunting mainly for large individuals. There is no solution to this problem yet. It's all about human greed.
