How To Hide Negative Numbers In Excel With Conditional Formatting
Have you ever used conditional formatting to hide negative numbers in excel? In this tutorial, we are about to do that. We’ll be hiding several negative values from cells in a way, you can’t see anything inside the cell. But if you click on it, you’ll be able to see the negative numbers in the formula bar.
I am doing this tutorial on Microsoft excel 2019, and you can use it on every excel versions. I will be using “Conditional Formatting” to solve this. Before starting lets check a few number formatting tutorials that might come handy.

Now, lets learn the procedure to Hide Negative Numbers in Excel
Step 1: Select the data range from where you want to hide negative numbers.
Step 2: Click on “Conditional formatting”
Step 3: Click on “Highlight Cells Rules” and select “Less than”
Step 4: Write “0” and click on the drop down.
Step 5: Select Custom
Step 6: Change “Fill Color” to no color
Step 7: Change “Font Color” to White.
Step 8: Click OK and done.
So, here, I’ve changed all the negative number font color to white using conditional formatting. As the numbers are white you can’t see it. If you can not see it that means its hidden. So, this is how you Hide Negative Numbers in Excel.
