Hello and welcome to this video. In this video I'm going to give you a quick introduction to power pivot which have been requested by a lot of people. I will show you what is power pivot, version of office with power pivot, list of Microsoft office versions that do not include the power pivot and lastly how to enable power pivot in excel.
What is Power Pivot?
Power pivot is a data analysis tool available in Microsoft Excel. Power Pivot is a data modeling technology that allows you to create data models, establish relationships and create calculations. PowerPivot lets you work with large data sets. it also allows you to build extensive relationships and create complex or simple calculations in a high-performance environment. So that's it for this video on a quick introduction to Power Pivot.
VERSIONS OF OFFICE WITH POWER PIVOT
Now, I'll be showing you the versions of Microsoft Office that comes with Power Pivot. Not all versions of Microsoft Office has power. Embedded Below is a list of Microsoft Office versions that has power people embedded that is it is built in. So
1. All versions of Microsoft 365 including the desktop versions of Excel.
2. Office Professional 2019
3. Office, home and business 2019
4. Office Home and Student 2019
5. office 2016 Professional Plus this is only available via the Volume Licensing.
6. Office 2013 Professional Plus
7. Excel 2013 standalone
8. Excel 2016 standalone
9. Excel 2010 does not have it built in. You have to download it as an add-on for it to be included in Excel 2010.
Also, on your screen you will see the LIST OF MICROSOFT OFFICE VERSIONS THAT DO NOT INCLUDE THE POWER PIVOT.
HOW TO ENABLE POWER PIVOT IN EXCEL
I'll be showing you how to enable power pivot in Excel. To begin I'm going to launch Excel. So, I've got Excel here on my desktop, so I'll click on the link here.
So, I've got Excel open, so I'll click to open up a blank workbook. So, I'll click on that to launch Excel. I'm going to open up a new blank workbook. So, I'm going to click so I've got the workbook open. So, I'll click on the File option here.
And there is an Options tab at the bottom so click on options. And within the options, there's an adding click on Add-Ins.
And within the add-ins here in the Manage box, click on the drop down and select COM add-ins and click and then make sure you put a check next to the Microsoft Power Pivot for Excel. Click OK.
And you can see here in the menu items, we now have power pivot here so if I click on the Power Pivot icon here, this is the power pivot interface that you can work with. So I'm just going to click on the Home tab takes me back to the homepage. So that's how you enable power pivot in Excel.
