BLACKFISH / Tautog / Tog - The POSSIBLE IMPOSSIBLE - Fishing with Epoxy MINNOW Jigs!!! MANY fishermen and fisher women believe, AND I include I, that catching a blackfish, tautog or tog with minnow or silver sided baits such as a epoxy jigs would be a total waste of time. AND it is true. HOWEVER while I was fishing and picking at some small sea bass and fluke I had a beauty of a hit, head shake and short run on the epoxy jig and teaser I love to fish in deep summer. I got caught up and broke off. Several casts later and some more sea bass the same occurred. BUT I pulled him out this time and the fight from 100 yards away was quite peculiar. No fluke, bass or blue. In NO WAY was I thinking tautog, black fish or tog. NO WAY did the thought of black pass my mind until I gazed my eyes on the impossible fish that should not be. BUT it was and be in all its simple glory and fascination we find in fishing. Some more small sea bass and the same hit head shake and short run happened again. The impossible POSSIBLE. I always say epoxy jigs will catch anything. Fishing never gets old.
