This #webinar took place on July 9, 2024, and is part of #GCV’s #TheNextWave monthly series covering topics across the #CorporateVentureCapital landscape.
Held in collaboration with Fenwick & West LLP
Many corporations are becoming interested in venture building studios to make use of internal IP and talent — but these programmes have a reputation for high costs and low success rates.
Structured correctly, however, this does not have to be the case. We bring together a panel of venture building experts who have managed to create successful playbooks for creating multiple internal ventures.
Speakers will include a member of the team at SC Ventures, which has so far built 15 internal ventures, and Jonathan Sagot and Byron Dailey, partners at Fenwick & West, who advise corporate clients on the set-up of venture studios.
The discussion will look at:
• Compensation structures of venture building teams
• How to transition in external entrepreneurs
• Capitalisation models for internal ventures
• How to structure internal venture for an exit
• How to scale a venture studio operation
Speakers:
-Lina Arbeláez, Head of Decarbonisation Ventures at Anglo American
-Gurdeep Singh Kohli, SC Ventures (Lead Europe & Americas)
-Eva Wang, COO & GC, of AI FUND and AI Ventures Management, LLC
-Byron Dailey, Partner, Corporate and Practice Area Lead, Private Investment Funds at Fenwick & West LLP
-Jonathan Sagot, Partner, Corporate at Fenwick & West LLP
