Sam Ferrans: 40 Years Since 1984 World Title
At just 16 years old, Sam Ferrans needed a note from his parents to the airline to be allowed to fly to the 1984 PDGA Pro World Championship in Rochester, New York. Though he was young, Sam had already felt the pain of close losses at important tournaments and he wasn’t going to let that happen again. Armed with an XD, an Aero, two Aviars, and a Towel, Sam beat the best players in the World. To this day, Sam Ferrans remains the youngest PDGA Pro World Champion in history, a record not likely to be broken anytime soon.
