Subject : Request to Revise Pension under EPS-95-REG

Respected Shri Mansukhbhai Mandaviya Sir, Namaskar....

I am writing to bring to your attention the plight of approximately 15 million pensioners in Gujarat who have retired from various government offices after many years of dedicated service. These individuals are currently receiving a meager monthly pension ranging from Rs. 300 to Rs. 2,500 under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) 1995. This amount is insufficient to meet even basic needs such as purchasing milk in the current economic climate.

The pensioners have requested a revision of their monthly pension to at least Rs. 7,500 along with Dearness Allowance (DA) and medical allowance of facilities. This request was assured consideration during a meeting with Mr. Raut, the National President of the Retired Aged Pensioners Association coordination committee, Gujarat, approximately seven years ago however, there has been no progress on this matter to date.

I kindly request that you consider addressing this long-standing demand of these senior citizens and take appropriate action to alleviate their financial distress.
