What would it look like if Elon Musk was your PhD supervisor? He probably find that much of the scientific endeavor is frustratingly, conservative, and people don’t necessarily pursue things that are important, but rather things that are easy to do.

He’d also find that we often split hairs about things that don’t necessarily matter in the long run. Rather than focus on getting things done, our focus is often on precision which results in a tremendous amount of wasted scientific resources.
