To install and uninstall a COM Add-in from Excel, such as a data tool, follow these steps:
Installation:
1. Open Excel: Launch Microsoft Excel on your computer.
2. Navigate to Options: Click on the "File" tab in the ribbon menu to access the File menu.
3. Access Add-Ins: In the File menu, click on "Options" to open the Excel Options dialog box.
4. Choose Add-Ins: In the Excel Options dialog box, select "Add-Ins" from the list on the left-hand side.

8. Enable the Add-In: In the Add-Ins dialog box, make sure the checkbox next to the name of the Add-In is checked to enable it.
9. Close Dialog Boxes: Click "OK" to close both the Add-Ins dialog box and the Excel Options dialog box.
10. Restart Excel: Close and restart Excel for the changes to take effect. The COM Add-in should now be installed and available for use.
Uninstallation:
1. Access Add-Ins: Follow steps 1-4 from the installation instructions above to open the Add-Ins dialog box.
2. Disable the Add-In: In the Add-Ins dialog box, uncheck the checkbox next to the name of the COM Add-in you want to uninstall. This will disable the Add-In.
3. Remove from List: If you want to completely remove the Add-In from the list, select the Add-In and click on the "Remove" button.
4. Close Dialog Boxes: Click "OK" to close the Add-Ins dialog box.
5. Restart Excel: Close and restart Excel for the changes to take effect. The COM Add-in should now be uninstalled and no longer available.
