If you guys have watched videos of elevators in Seattle for quite some time now, you may remember this thing!
Well, I'm happy to report that it's STILL ORIGINAL in 2023, and running just as great as ever!
This elevator is one of the most GORGEOUS Vintage Elevators I've EVER BEEN ON as well as one of the most TASTEFUL Modernizations I've EVER seen!
The building this elevator is located in was originally built in 1892, so OBVIOUSLY this elevator isn't original, but it was modernized in either the Late 60s or Early to Mid 1970s to what it is today making the modernization STILL VINTAGE, and when this thing was modernized, they kept the Birdcage Aesthetic! The cab was definitely redone during the modernization, but the car itself as well as the caged shaft definitely remain original! In addition, given that the elevator car is so small and Otis only had so much room to work with, they installed the "skinny" Otis Black Button COP that has been seen on several European installations but is VERY RARE in the US, just adding to the charm and uniqueness of this thing! Not to mention the Motor and Relays on this thing sound AMAZING too in addition to everything else that make this elevator great! Words really can't describe how GORGEOUS, UNIQUE, RARE, EPIC & COOL this elevator is, but I'm not gonna keep you guys reading anymore cause you all know that! ;)

I'm sure everyone knows where this elevator is and I did state the location in the video, but due to this building no longer being easily accessible and with me and Kyle having to pull a stunt that normally only ‪@elevatorsoflakecountyTV‬ would do to get in here, I won't be listing the location in either the title or description and will remove any comments mentioning it.

That all being said, I hope you enjoy the video, and let me know what you guys think of this thing in the comments below!

Installed in 1892. (Manually Controlled Otis Elevator)

Modernized in Circa Late 1960s or Early to Mid 1970s. (Otis with Newer Black Button fixtures, New Motor, New Controller, New Automatic doors, Cab Updates, etc. Car itself as well as the shaft both remain original.)
