Everyone in eLearning is talking about SCORM.
But what exactly is SCORM and how can you easily create a SCORM package?
First, a few words about the main ingredients of eLearning: a course, an authoring tool, and an LMS.
A course is a package of learning materials (texts, videos, and quizzes).
An authoring tool is a software for creating courses.
An LMS is an online platform that delivers courses to learners.
It’s very important that all the ingredients communicate seamlessly. Let’s say you have a new authoring tool or you're looking for an LMS. You need to be sure that they speak the same language, right?
That is exactly what SCORM does. It sets the rules for transferring information between all ingredients. A SCORM package is a zip archive with learning materials, like quizzes, videos, or texts, wrapped in the unified code.
