National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced significant changes in the JEE Main exam pattern. Starting from 2025, the choice option in Section B, which has been in place for the past three years, will no longer be available. On Thursday, NTA clarified that there will no longer be optional questions in Section B.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, NTA introduced this change to help students who faced disruptions in their preparation. Since 2021, Section B included 10 questions, out of which students had to answer only 5. This option continued until 2024.
However, from the 2025 JEE Main exam onwards, there will be no optional questions. The exam will revert to the pre-2021 format. In Section B, students will now have to answer all 5 questions given. NTA advises students to stay updated and visit the official NTA website, nta.ac.in, or the JEE Main website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, for any further information or updates.
