What is this series about?
In the "Literacy Journeys with Linda" video series, you will hear from a wide range of people who have made literacy, that is, the act of reading and/or writing, a vital portion of their lives. Many people around the world are illiterate, and I hope this series can bring awareness to this issue and spark change. Why? Because Literacy is Liberation! It takes you higher.

Grandmother's Sweet Potato Pie
4 medium sweet potatoes
2 cups of sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla flavor
1/4 cup soft butter or margarine
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons milk
4 eggs
1 to 2 tablespoons nutmeg
Peel, cut and boil potatoes until tender. When potatoes are tender, combine with all other ingredients
in a large bow.l Beat at high speed until well blended. Taste to see if more nutmeg or sugar should be added. Pour into 2 deep dish pie crusts or 3 or 4 (8 inch) pie crusts. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Adjust bake time depending on oven and center doneness. Let pie cool before slicing.
