In an attempt to improve the efficiency of my thermoacoustic heat engine, I made a taller engine with multiple cans. I tried to test the impact of different sizes of aluminum support structure on the performance of the engine, but the results were not conclusive.
I figured out that it is important for the engine to have water vapor filled the whole volume. To achieve that I created a second hole on top of the engine so that when water is injected from the lower section, the vapor fills the cylinder and excess pressure exit from the top whole.
This structure to my surprise resulted to a self-starting thermoacoustic engine, which is fantastic.
