Kali Linux is one of the best operating systems to use as hacker. However, it doesn't come perfectly configured right out of the box.Today, we'll share our list of the top 6 things you must do after installing Kali Linux,on this tutorial of Tech Geeks.
1.Kali Repocitory Update after installing kali linux :
Regular repositories
On a standard, clean install of Kali Linux, you should have the following entry present in /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib
Add Source repositories after installing kali linux.
In case you require source packages, you might also want to add the following repositories as well:
deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib
2. Install Figlet (Optional) :
This process is optional. This application will just customize your terminal with your given name.
2.Upgrade and dist-upgrade Kali Linux:
Upgrade
The real update operation will be down with upgrade command. This command will download packages and upgrade accordingly. So upgrade command will be run after update command. We should have root privileges in order to complete update operation so we will use sudo before upgrade command.
COMMAND: apt-get update
Dist-Upgrade
dist-upgrade command is very similar to upgrade command. This command will upgrade too but during upgrade there will be some prompts related with package configuration. In dist-upgrade this questions will be answered automatically by apt which will make our upgrade operation more easy and intelligent.
sudo apt dist-upgrade
3. Create Non Root user In Kali Linux: First of all register a normal user account using “adduser” command, it’ll ask you for password confirmation and other user details
COMMAND: adduser notroot
Now it will ask for your Password. Then Follow the video.
4. Install the Latest Version of Tor
Tor is available in Kali's repositories, but anonymity software should be acquired directly from the source (torproject.org). Furthermore, Kali's version of Tor is not reliably maintained or updated. This means we could be missing critical stability and security updates.
Add the Tor Project repositories to your APT repository list.
Many applications like the Chromium Browser and the Tor Browser should never be opened or used as a root user. Such applications rely heavily upon low-level permissions to deliver some degree of security. It might be beneficial to some users to create a low privileged user account for such activities.
5. Install Anonsurf in Kali Linux:

6. Install Synaptic Package Manager In Kali Linux:
Synaptic Package Manager enables you to install any package in one click
