Warning - The following footage contains scenes of severe animal abuse. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.
A couple of years ago, we broke a story about Britain’s energy market and how animals are being used to make electricity and gas and how, unwittingly, people who care to avoid animal products in what they eat and what they wear, were using them to power their homes.
A few months ago, we got a tip off that a different kind of animal was being used in the same industry to make electricity, in this case dogs.
We commissioned some undercover filming around hunt kennels in England and Wales to find out if this was true. We found out that it was.
And not just dogs, but foxes and badgers as well. And at the same time we uncovered the most shocking animal cruelty and abuse, and we passed it on to the authorities and have worked closely with ITV who have recently exposed these atrocities.
Our original story from two years ago was basically a vegan issue. We were saying that power in your home, if you were not careful, was not vegan, it was made using animals.
This goes further than that because whilst there are thousands of people who care what they eat and don’t wear animal products, there are many millions more that are dog lovers and will care that dogs are being abused in this way.
We have been told that anywhere between 3,000 and 6,000 pups and old hounds are possibly being killed like this every year. These are pups that don’t have the killer instinct for hunting or older dogs who can’t keep up with the pack.
We think that needs exposing and we are going to do some more work on this. For that we have launched a crowd funder.

About Us
Green electricity didn't exist in the world back in 1996. When we offered it for the first time, we became not just Britain’s but the world’s first green electricity company – and we kick-started the now global green electricity movement. Our mission was and remains to change the way electricity is made and used in Britain.
We chose this focus because conventional electricity is responsible for 30% of Britain’s carbon emissions – it’s our biggest single source as a nation, and therefore the biggest single thing we can change.
