How to Find arithmetic mean of grouped and ungrouped data is explained with the help of example.
What is Arithmetic Mean?
Arithmetic mean is used to measure the central tendency of data.It is also known as average or mean.
Mathematical Representation:
Arithmetic mean can be mathematically represented by X-Bar.
How to calculate the arithmetic mean?
Formula for finding the Arithmetic mean of n observations is:
Arithmetic mean=ΣX/n
Where n is the number of observations.
Arithmetic mean of UnGrouped Data:
Mean of ungrouped data can be found by using the formula mentioned above. To skip ahead example is at 02:38

Arithmetic mean of Grouped Data:
Formula for finding the arithmetic mean of grouped data is:
Arithmetic Mean=ΣfX/Σf
Where X is the observation value in case of discrete data while in case of continuous data X is the midpoint of the interval. To skip ahead example is at 04:13.
