Quick Piano Tip: Weak Fingers 3,4 and 5?
Due to the way our hand is built, every finger has it's own character; it's own strength and weaknesses. Fingers 3-4-5 are not any weaker or less independent than the thumb or 2nd finger. They just need the support and alignment of the arm to to function at their best.
Of course, alignment isn't the only thing to help fingers 3-4-5, but also the gestures such as rotation, wrist circles, and the in and out of the piano. Thus, having easy, fluid, strong, and efficient technique requires knowledge on how to align and put together different body parts or motions to assist the fingers.
Piano technique is a complex and nuanced beast that one video can not thoroughly go through with detail. However, I hope that this tip can help you unlock new discoveries for yourself. Experiment, explore, and find the technique that is yours!
