What is the difference between nested IF and IFS formula in Excel?
In this video, I’ll show you the differences between nested IF and IFS formula in Excel.
The IF function in Excel is used to make logical comparisons between a value and what you expect. The If formula in Microsoft Excel returns one value for a TRUE result and another value for a FALSE result. The syntax of Excel IF function is =IF (logical_test, value_if_true, [value_if_false]).
The IFS function in Excel is used to checks whether one or more conditions are met and returns a value that corresponds to the first TRUE condition. The IFS formula in Microsoft Excel can take the place of multiple nested IF formula and is easier to read with multiple conditions. The syntax of Excel IFS function is = IFS (logical_test1, value_if_true1, [logical_test2, value_if_true2], [logical_test3, value_if_true3],…).
