Today, I will journey into the heart of Tondo and its surrounding areas—Happyland, Baseco, and Parola. These slums are rife with danger and violence, yet they are also filled with resilience, unique stories, and an unbreakable human spirit
In Happyland—ironically named "garbage dump"—I’ll take on the challenge of trying PagPag, a dish made from leftover meat salvaged from trash bins
Our journey continues to Tondo Church, one of the holiest places in the Philippines, yet deeply intertwined with the history of the Vigilante Crips. Here, I meet the gang's leader, who grants me rare access to his neighborhood. Through deeply personal and untold stories, I’ll uncover an unfiltered look at their lives, struggles, and choices in this unforgiving environment
