l IEEE 802.3av is the protocol of 10G EPON，It follows the EPON IEEE 802.3ah standard, maximizes the
use of IEEE 802.3ah content, its not only expands the upstream and downstream bandwidth, but also
providing a maximum of 256 ONU Per PON.
l The 10G EPON Standards Group was formed in September 2006,code number IEEE 802.3av. Two 10G
EPON technologies are defined:
1、Asymmetrical：
ØDownload speed 10Gbps,Upload speed 1Gbps
ØDownstream center wavelength 1577nm,Upstream center wavelength 1310nm
2、Symmetrical：
ØDownload speed 10Gbps,Upload speed 10Gbps
ØDownstream center wavelength 1577nm,Upstream center wavelength 1270nm
l IEEE 802.3av Key Point ：
1、Expand 802.3ah(EPON) bandwidth to 10G;
2、Co-existence，10G EPON ONU and EPON ONU can work under same ODN
