In this video we will be talking about SVG. I will show you how to create SVG graphics from the grounds up. This means, drawing graphics without the use of any illustration software like adobe Illustrator. Instead, you will be drawing graphics by typing code directly into the SVG file, following its natural DOM structure.
Although the examples presented in this tutorial use SVG in a mark-up file, everything covered in this tutorial is still relevant to a plain SVG file. We write our SVG in a mark-up file because our focus leans towards the web design aspect of SVG and how we can use it to add elaborate animations and designs to our websites.
🧠 Concepts Covered:
How vector images differ from bitmap images.
SVG vs canvas. Which is better?
All of the shapes included in SVG by default.
Commands for the path shape.
Curves; cubic, quadratic and arcs.
Gradients, filters and animations.
💻 Technologies used:
HTML, supports SVG natively.
CSS.
