The New 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Production Line | Ford Plant | How Ford Truck is Made
The 2022 Ford F150 Lightning is aimed at the center of the US car market, with a starting price of $40,000 and an EPA-estimated driving range of 300 miles with the extended range battery. To date, Ford has accepted over 150,000 bookings for the trucks.
Ford said today that it will expand investment and job creation as the first pre-production F-150 Lightning vehicles roll out of Ford's new Rouge Electric Vehicle Center and demand for the all-electric pickup climbs.
The Ford Rouge Center, which sets the standard for sustainable vehicle assembly, houses the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center. Ford's objective of sustainable manufacturing as a zero-waste-to-landfill site is supported by this new facility.
Natural and LED lighting are used throughout the facility, and the primary forklift fleet will be powered by hydrogen fuel cells with a zero-emission profile. The Rouge Electric Vehicle Center is being constructed on the site of the former Dearborn Assembly Plant, with the foundation and building materials being recycled.
Platinum models are not included. Based on a fully charged battery. Range set by the US EPA to match current conditions, based on analytical projections that follow the US EPA combined driving cycle. The actual range is affected by factors such as the external environment, vehicle use, vehicle maintenance, lithium-ion battery age, and health. In the calendar year 2022, the final EPA-estimated ratings will be available.
