First of all, these tacos are amazing. Second of all, It's really hard to find some of the ingredients for the original recipe, since I live in Turkey, but it still turned out pretty awesome. Please enjoy.
How to cook:
-Sear the meat on high heat, 2 mins on each side.
-Boil 25-30 minutes on medium heat.
-Simmer 2.5 - 3 hrs on low heat, until meat is really tender.
INGREDIENTS:
1.7 - 2 kilograms of beef (I used veal shanks)
3 tsp of salt (added gradually)
2-3 tbsp neutral oil
1 yellow onion
variety of red chiles ( I also used sweet peppers)
4-5 cloves of garlic
2 tbsp tomato paste (or 2-3 crushed tomatoes)
1 tbsp butter
1.5 liters of water
3 bay leaves
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp black pepper corns
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Tacos:
8-10 flour or corn tortillas
250 grams string or mozarella cheese
For serving:
lime
coriander
red onion
