The Sonotubes is made of card board biodegradable material in which concrete is poured to form solid concrete pillars, or foundation. The Sonotubes is trademarks brand name and others brand Sakrete and Quikrete has own tubes names form-tube and Quik-tubes respectively.
The standard dimensions of Sonotubes is 8", 10", 12", 14", 16" & 18" in diameter of cylindrical shape and the length of Sonotubes is about 4 feet high.
The most commonly used sonotube sizes are 8″, 10″, 12″, 14", 16" & 18"
A typical Sonotubes takes about 1.74 x 60 lb bags or 1.31 x 80 lb bags of concrete to fill a 12″ sonotube 1 foot.
You need 1.21 x 60 lb bags or 0.91 x 80lb bags of concrete to fill a 10″ sonotube 1 foot.
It take 0.77 x 60 lb bags or 0.58 x 80 lb bags of concrete to fill an 8″ sonotube 1 foot.
It take 0.44 x 60 lb bags or 0.33 x 80 lb bags of concrete to fill a 6″ sonotube 1 foot. And for 4 feet height 1.76 x 60 lb bags or 1.32 x 80 lb bags of concrete is required to fill a 6″ sonotube.
