GVLogs - The Beginning of a New Era
I'd like to introduce a brand new video genera. VIRTUAL VLOGGING.
You have heard of VTUBERS? HOW ABOUT VIRTUAL VLOGGERS!?!?
And more specifically, GARRYS MOD VLOGGING! Or even GMAN VLOGGING. (maybe I will keep gman as my model) Forget the stupid first person perspective, you want videos that are MAN ON THE STREET TALKING AT CAMERA!
In this video I take a quick walk around City27 and get lost in some spooky underground sewer tunnels.
I am, as far as I know The worlds first GVLOGGER and MAYBE might be the first gtuber, though there is probably someone out there that uses gmod for their vids, but I DID IT IN VR, which makes me A VIRTUAL VLOGGER and I guess a vtuber as well.
There are a few things I gotta improve on, and maybe you can help me.
The big one is AUDIO, The audio sounds so goofy because of the DSP effects which don't always match the area the soundscape exists in. DSP is like how much echo there is in a room, I think I can override these while still keeping the soundscapes active I HOPE! or at least tone town the effect.
Then there is the mouth moving effect. The problem with gmod is that to get your player's mouth to move you have to "LISTEN" to your own mic, however lets say you lower the voice receive volume so you don't have to hear yourself on a slight delay, guess what the mouth move thing is tied to that so lowering it makes the mouth stop moving. Ideally I could get the mouth to move WITHOUT having to listen to my own audio. Also there is still somehow occasional voice packet loss... ON A LOCAL SERVER.
There is an addon called flexposer which would FIX MOST OF MY PROBLEMS but flexposer apparently does not work with the new 64 bit version of gmod. I suspect the custom lib could be modified to work with the new version but IDK. also setting up a webcam to be looking at my face while i have the vr helmet on might not work either.
Finally I need to train myself to hold the camera a little lower. The view I could see of the camera had my model in frame a lot better but output of the screen recording is not exactly what I see. I could alternatively use the openvr recording plugin to get the raw video into obs which MIGHT be a little better but I do like the nice native 16:9 I get out of the desktop preview.
