Chesed, Hebrew for Benevolence or Mercy, is the fourth Sefirah on the Tree of Life.
The fourth Sefirah also bears the name Gedulah, which means Greatness.
The Sefirot of the Tree of Life, which comes from the Qabbalah , are ten fundamental principles of creation.
Chesed is all about love and benevolent, constructive principle . The Tree of Life is a complex and complete symbol of both the universe and the human soul. We are gradually considering all the principles, and so a complex picture comes together, through which we learn to understand the universe, the macrocosm, as well as the soul, the microcosm better.
