Fenrir, a monstrous wolf in Norse mythology, is one of Loki's sons. As he grew, the gods feared his immense strength and bound him with magical chains. Despite their efforts, Fenrir broke through two sets of bindings. Finally, with the third chain, Gleipnir, made from impossible things, they managed to trap him. As he was bound, Fenrir bit off the hand of the god Týr. According to prophecy, Fenrir will break free during Ragnarök, the end of the world, and devour Odin before being killed by Odin's son, Víðarr.
