Inheritance is a mechanism by which an object can acquire the properties of the parent class.
Why use inheritance?
To reuse code
Syntax:
public class ChildClass extends ParentClass
{
}
extends keyword:
extends keyword signifies that it extends the parent class properties.
Types of Java inheritance:
Single inheritance
Multilevel inheritance
Hierarchical inheritance
Hybrid inheritance
Why Java does not support multiple inheritances?
To reduce the complexity and simplify the language, multiple inheritances is not supported in java.
