I'm Kathi, in my mid-20s and I'm probably like most of you: I love to buy new clothes and trendy pieces whilst spending as little money as possible. Nevertheless, I find myself speaking out more and more against the fast-fashion industry, its terrible working conditions and the throwaway society with their annual 5.8 million tons of textile waste (in Europe alone). But since I - and I think it's the same for a lot of people - can not afford some boring (sorry), "fair" white T-shirt for 90 €, I decided a few months ago that I would just make my own clothes 😊
I won't be doing this with newly produced fabrics (due to the immense environmental cost of chemical dyes), but instead using second-hand clothing or my Grandma's old, vintage clothing to make awesome, trendy designer garments inspired by unaffordable designer trends. #howtoslayomaskleiderschrank
