This piece, Nocturne in B Minor was one of the last pieces I composed at Walden. I wrote this piece from a composition assignment from my composition teacher: Dr Daniel Felsenfield. The assignment was rather vague, simply to write a piece based on or in response to another piece, of which I choose the former. I had acquired the score for the Chopin Nocturnes and decided to write a piece based on those. Although the piece was based on pinnacle romantic music I wrote it with a more modern tonality. The framework of the piece was written in about 45 minutes and in one sitting, however, I had revised and expanded the piece over the next week.
