In my experience, the hardest part for most people in learning Adobe Lightroom Classic is the Import Process. There's lots of ways to do this process and many options of what to include or exclude. The import process that I use leverages the capabilities of Lightroom to help me manage and organize my photos. So, during import I will: create a location on a local hard drive to save the photos; create a collection for the photos in Lightroom for better organization; and create filenames for each photo that are relevant to the photo project.
In the video, I mention that there's a process for getting your photos from smartphones to the computer that uses Google Photos. The reason I use this process, is that direct connection via USB cable generally does not work from Android to Macintosh, and even iPhones to Macintosh can sometimes be problematic in importing to Lightroom.
