Welcome to Planescape: Torment, the acclaimed CRPG published by Black Isle Studios back in 1999. Following on from the award-winning Baldur's Gate series, the developers created a single-player CRPG which is largely regarded as probably the best every story ever told.
You are the Nameless One. You wake up in the Mortuary with no memory of who you are, and your only guide is a floating skull called Morte. From this extremely humble start, you must travel across the planes to unravel the mystery of who you are, following clues left behind by your former self, as you seek to resolve the issue as to why you continue to return from the dead.
