Hello,
This is our ST60, which enables the creation of contactless connectors. Thanks to a 60 GHz based RF communication, we can replace contact-based connections by wireless ones.
ST60 A3 is perfect for industrial and wearable applications.
It can support the eUSB2 protocol up to High speeds at 480 Mbps as well as I2C, UART, SPI or dual GPIO.
It gives great advantages; in that we can have fully sealed devices and reliably handle rotation even at very high speed. We can also have full galvanic isolation and operations in difficult environments.
For wearables, it is great due to its very small footprint because of the antenna inside the package and its very low power capabilities.

We have a USB2, 360 degrees rotating connection.
On the fixed side, a fully standard PC with its USB connector. The ST60 evaluation board is directly plugged into it without any software modification.
On top of the rotating element, we have a standard USB2 camera which is connected to the second ST60 evaluation board.
When the two boards are facing each other the data link is automatically established.
As we can see the video is transmitted through the RF link to the PC. We can rotate the camera and the video is fluent. Typically, rotation rate of several thousand turns per minute can be achieved and ensure lifetime of many years.
Just check out the small footprint of the ST60A3 solution with its integrated antenna.
With a size of 3 by 4 mm2, the ST60A3 is great for wearable equipment.
ST60 can as well be a perfect solution to securely download software and test product during their manufacturing and thus allow the complete removal of pogos connection for product configuration and testing.
We can have a fully sealed and smart design together with short testing time. This also brings, the capability to develop software and new applications without opening the device.
So, to conclude, to remove contacts or connectors on your devices, ST60A3 provides solutions for protocols like eUSB2, UART, I2C, SPI or dual GPIOs and is perfectly fitting the requirements of many wearable products.
