Software Engineer in Japan vlog:
How coding has changed my life, why you NEED to learn to code, and some of the resources I used to study and get a full-time Software Engineering job with no CS degree and without job experience.

Here is a list of the resources I used / am still using:
Learning the Foundations:
freeCodeCamp.org (totally free)
https://www.freecodecamp.org/
The Odin Project (totally free)
https://www.theodinproject.com/
Codecademy (free and paid options)
https://www.codecademy.com/
Scrimba (They have a revolutionary interface to copy code straight from the video tutorial. There are paid and free options)
https://scrimba.com/
W3 Schools (mostly free and the go-to option for searching answers)
https://www.w3schools.com/
Eloquent JavaScript e-book (free)
https://eloquentjavascript.net/index....
Brilliant Computer Science course (convenient (paid) app to study anytime)
https://brilliant.org/s/cs/

For coding challenges/Interview coding challenge prep:
Codewars (free)
https://www.codewars.com/
Paiza (Japanese but you can use Chat GPT to explain in English, challenges are free, study questions are limited for free and unlimited with membership)
https://paiza.jp/challenges
Leet Code (This is very advanced and I stopped using it and won't go back to it unless I'm going to try getting a job at a top tech company like Amazon or something, it's free but there's a paid membership to get better explanations or something. Really not worth your time unless you wanna work somewhere like Google)
https://leetcode.com/

The self-paced bootcamp I did:
Freemote (paid program, most expensive investment I made into my coding education, but very worth it)
https://www.freemote.com/

College:
Programming Fundamentals 1 for CS majors, with options to do it in C++ or Java. I chose C++. With the textbook it was around $1000 in total. You're probably not going to be using Java or C++ at your first job, especially if it's a front-end Web Developer job.

My suggestion: self study for at least a few months. If you need a more structured schedule to keep the pace going or are the type of person who needs other people for motivation/accountability, then join the cheapest coding bootcamp you can find.

Coding Bootcamps I considered other than FREEMOTE:
Nucamp (very inexpensive, fully remote)
https://www.nucamp.co/

Springboard (very EXPENSIVE, but seems to be a solid education, has a good payment system so you don't pay until after you finish the course and get a job, and they say they have job placement or something, fully remote)
https://www.springboard.com/courses/s...

Scrimba Bootcamp (very inexpensive, fully remote)
https://scrimba.com/bootcamp

Bootcamps based in Japan that you can use a Japanese government subsidy to pay for most of the tuition (I applied and got accepted into both but didn't join for personal reasons. However, I wish I had joined one of them. I was overwhelmed in my first tech job without any formal education):
Code Chrysalis (only in-person in Tokyo, last time I checked)
https://www.codechrysalis.io/
Le Wagon (cheaper than Chrysalis and has global locations, fully remote course)

Wojack meme guy selling the dip video source:
